Laura and Scotty's Wedding Vows

Minister: "Friends and family of the bride and groom. We are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in marriage, an estate kindled by love, rooted in joy, and honored each day by all men and women who pledge themselves to one another. Marriage is God's institution for the comfort and continuation of mankind. All of us here today pray that your marriage will be a source of abundant happiness and that you will enrich it by your tender devotion, your mindfulness in little things, and your patience and constancy with one another today and forever. Laura, your vows."

Laura: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways for you, Scotty; the moment I saw you I knew we were close in spirit, and now I want to share everything I am and everything I will ever be with you. You have taught me the true meaning of the words "trust" and to share everything I am and everything I will ever be with you. I will be proud to bear your name and your children. I know you are wiser and more mature than I am, but with your help, I will grow. I vow to love you, and in being your partner in life, I will be fulfilled."

Scotty: "Laura, to our marriage I will give the most important thing I own: my life. This has been a day we've both fought for, but I'm grateful now for all the difficulties we've gone through, because they've only brought us closer together and made us more certain of our love. I believe in my heart and mind that we were meant to be together, Laura, and I'm going to spend the rest of my life proving to you and to those who are close to us that our love and our marriage were meant to be. This is the happiest day of my life."

Minister: "Laura, will you have this man to be your husband? Will you love him, comfort him, honor him and keep him, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and forsaking all others keep only unto him, as long as you both shall live?"

Laura: "I will."

Minister: "Scotty, will you have this woman to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, honor her and keep her, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and forsaking all others keep only unto her, as long as you both shall live?"

Scotty: "I will."

Minister: "And now Laura and Scotty will seal their vows by the gift of a ring to each other. Repeat after me... With this ring, I thee wed in token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love."

Laura: "With this ring, I thee wed in token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love."

Scotty: "With this ring, I thee wed in token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love."

Minister: "Laura and Scotty... having chosen one another from the many men and women of the earth, and having pledged your vows to one another before this gathering, I herby pronounce you husband and wife."
